Going from
being archenemies to death in a fantasy world to ending up secretly dating in a
normal high school is the kind of development that no one expected. For those
who were at full speed waiting for a release window, the
production committee released the details: the anime adaptation of Hanaori-san
Still Wants to Fight in the Next Life (Tatakaitai's Hanaori-san
Mada Tsugi no Inochi) is scheduled for its official premiere in July
2026.
The news
came accompanied by a first trailer and a promotional poster through the
official website of the franchise. With this advance it is clear that the work
of trying to lead a peaceful life is going to be quite complicated when their
combat instincts decide to come to the surface.

The
responsibility of animating this little gem falls on the facilities of
the Liden Films studio. In the director's chair we have Hideyo
Yamamoto, while Yukie Sugawara is in charge of structuring
the scripts. The character designs are by Yousuke Okuda, with a
sound section composed of the duo of Yukari Hashimoto and R.O.N.
About
the work
The plot is
a direct and non-stop reverse isekai. A Demon King and a heroine
who used to kill each other in their past life end up reincarnating in modern
Japan. Instead of asking for a truce or resuming their millennial war, fate
decides that they end up dating together in the same school where he is the
teacher and she is the student. Obviously, keeping their true identities under lock
and key becomes absolute chaos when their ancient memories and magical
abilities lead to both hilarious and destructive misunderstandings.
This
adaptation marks the first time that Hanaori and Ryusei's story makes the leap
to television. With the promise of more supporting cast announcements briefly
revealed in the trailer, fans of absurd romantic comedies already have a
mandatory appointment for the upcoming summer season.
