About the work

The plot follows Toya Senji, a high school student who, despite his excellent grades, considers himself an average person by constantly living under the shadow of his talented older brother. His desire to stand out changes when he discovers the secret of his classmate Haito Luo Buffett, who used an artifact known as the "reincarnation branch" to inherit his past life talent as the legendary swordsman Miyamoto Musashi. Toya soon discovers the existence of more individuals called "Returnees," who plan to use the abilities of their historical incarnations to fulfill far more dangerous ambitions.

Mangaka Mikihisa Konishi began serializing this story through Comic Blade magazine in May 2014. After the discontinuation of the original publication, the work was transferred to the pages of Comic Garden magazine, achieving a sustained success that has allowed it to reach its twenty-second compiled volume printed in August 2025.
