Surviving
the death games is enough work, but the protagonist has no choice
if she wants to pay the rent. For those who were at full speed waiting
for a second television season, the production committee dropped the
facts: Shiboyugi: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table will
make the leap directly to theaters with an official sequel film.
Titled Shiboyugi:
Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table 44: Cloudy Beach, this film
will have a very limited screening of only two weeks in theaters in Japan
from July 10. The announcement left us with a first video trailer
and a promotional poster, confirming that the story is 100% canon and
picks up right where the TV series left us.
About
the work
Every fan-based knows
that this franchise is not one of the ordinary. Based on the light novels
written by Yushi Ukai and illustrated by Nekometal,
the original work proved to be a real gem by winning the
Excellence Award at the 18th edition of the Kadokawa MF Bunko
J. As if that were not enough, it was crowned in first place in the category of
new titles in the coveted Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! 2024 ranking.
The premise
of the film puts us back in the shoes of Yuuki, who must now face the "Cloudy
Beach" event along with seven other players in the middle of the ocean.
The spicy thing is that among the participants there is a familiar face, so it
is better that no one has to ask for a corner because
betrayals and tactical alliances will be lethal. To celebrate the announcement,
both the original illustrator and mangaka of the
adaptation, Banzai Kotobuki Daienkai, posted special art on their
networks for the fandom.
