North America's deadliest and most extravagant horse race is just warming up. After having left us wanting more with that first episode of 47 minutes just a few days ago, the panel of AnimeJapan 2026 dropped the bombshell: the anime adaptation of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 7: Steel Ball Run (JoJo no Kimyo na Boken: Steel Ball Run) will continue its gallop with a "2nd Stage" that will arrive in the global Netflix catalog this 2026. All this was accompanied by a new promotional preview that gives us a look at the stands and dangers that await the leading duo in the desert.

Production Details

The david production team remains in absolute command of this monumental journey. In the director's chair we find the duo formed by Yasuhiro Kimura and Hideya Takahashi, who already demonstrated their talent leading Golden Wind, supported this time by Toshiyuki Kato as director of the series. To ensure that the mangaka's narrative madness flows seamlessly on screen, veteran Yasuko Kobayashi resumes her role as script overseer. The technical section is complemented by the character designs of Daisuke Tsumagari and, of course, a soundtrack that promises to be legendary under the baton of the incomparable Yugo Kanno, all under the meticulous sound direction of Yoshikazu Iwanami.

Hirohiko Araki's genius reached a new peak with this seventh part, originally serialized between 2004 and 2011. The plot transports us to the end of the nineteenth century to witness the first transcontinental horse race across the United States. Here we follow Johnny Joestar, a former prodigy rider who became a paraplegic after an altercation, who decides to join forces with the enigmatic Gyro Zeppeli and the technique of rotating his steel spheres.

What begins as a competition for a gigantic multimillion-dollar prize quickly morphs into a nationwide conspiracy involving the president himself, hitmen, incomprehensible powers, and the search for mysterious holy relics scattered across the country.
