The moment
that fans have feared and waited for in equal parts has finally arrived.
This Monday, April 27, the publisher Shueisha officially
announced that the successful shonen manga created by Yuki
Tabata, Black Clover, formally enters its final arc after
11 years of serialization. To kick off this climax with maximum power, the
story will return in the spring issue of Jump GIGA magazine
this coming May 1st with a massive launch of a back-to-back triple
chapter, color pages and the main cover art.
A
magical 11-year legacy in the industry
As this
news focuses on the outcome of the printed manga and there is no news about its
animated adaptation, it is the perfect time to review the impressive
achievements that support Tabata's work in its final stretch. Here are the
milestones that have marked the path of the Toros Negros:
- Overwhelming sales: The franchise has
officially surpassed the monumental barrier of 19 million copies in
circulation worldwide.
- Evolution in its publication: After almost nine years
of crushing weekly pressure in the Weekly Shonen Jump, the
work took a strategic leap to the publication of the Jump GIGA in December
2023, allowing its author to maintain the highest quality of drawing while
taking care of his health for the closing.
- An unprecedented event: The release of three simultaneous chapters this Friday marks a high-caliber event at the magazine, guaranteeing a massive dose of narrative breakthrough in a single sitting.
Who will
be crowned as the real Wise Man?
From the
first chapter published in February 2015, the premise established one of the
best rivalries in the entire demographic. In a world where social status and
human worth are measured entirely by the amount of magical power, we
follow Asta, a noisy orphan who was born with absolutely zero magic
in his body. By his side grows Yuno, his stoic adoptive brother,
who was blessed with prodigious talent and the manna fit for royalty.
Despite
their abysmal differences, they both share the same childhood promise and the
same seemingly impossible dream: to become the Wizard King, the
strongest sorcerer and military leader of the Clover Kingdom. Facing
high-ranking demons, invading armies, and near-divine conspiracies, these
triple chapters will finally stage the decisive battle between
Asta and Yuno, capping a journey of pure perseverance to determine which of the
two is truly worthy of wearing the most coveted crown in their world.
