Celebrating fifteen years in the anime industry while staying relevant is an achievement that very few franchises achieve. Kadokawa decided to celebrate this milestone by revealing that animation studio Studio Fugaku has just released a new official trailer and promotional image for the new project based on the successful light novels written by Koushi Tachibana, formally titled Date A Live F Last Date. The material revealed this Friday confirmed that production is already underway, although the technical team decided to keep both the format of the project (whether it will be a new television season or a movie) and its release window in absolute secrecy.

The veteran voices that seal the commitment

A saga with so much history needs its pillars intact to function. The announcement confirmed that the cast that has accompanied the play throughout five seasons and one film will return in its entirety, this time under the direction of Junji Nishimura (Vladlove). Here are the main voice actors who reprise their roles to lead this new stage:

  • Nobunaga Shimazaki as Shido Itsuka

Haruka Nanase in Free! and Mahito in Jujutsu Kaisen.

  • Marina Inoue as Tohka Yatogami

Armin Arlert in Attack on Titan and Momo Yaoyorozu in My Hero Academia.

Fifteen years of dates, battles and twelve Spirits

The commercial journey of this story is truly enviable. With more than 6 million copies circulating worldwide, the novels illustrated by Tsunako quickly became a mainstay of Kadokawa. To celebrate this 15th anniversary, the illustrator herself confessed that she has designed completely new and customized costumes for the 12 Spirits that will appear in this anime. For his part, Koushi Tachibana took advantage of the statement to thank readers for their unconditional support, humorously reflecting on how the fans who were born with the first volume are now in high school.

What does the arrival of this "Last Encounter" mean?

Although the producers have not released a textual synopsis, the visual clues they yielded are quite direct. The promotional image shows us Tohka Yatogami wearing a spectacular wedding dress with a genuinely happy expression. At the same time, the teaser video makes an emotional journey through the dialogue of all the heroines who have paraded through the life of the protagonist, closing with the emblematic line that gives name to the saga to raise expectations to the maximum.
