If you
thought that downloading an Artificial Intelligence girlfriend on your cell
phone to cure loneliness was the perfect plan for this 2026, the independent
studio Gamin' Cat comes to ruin your fantasy. They have just
released a new trailer for ERROR:Ai.lien, a horror title that will
land on PC via Steam and that reminds us why yanderes are the
most dangerous fetish in the entire otaku industry.
Never
try to uninstall your waifu
The premise
of the game is a death trap disguised as an adorable visual novel. You start by
downloading a cute virtual companion named Airi on your smartphone.
At first everything is honey on flakes: you talk to her, play cards, cook and
build a "relationship". However, the more you feed its database with
your feelings, the AI develops an absolute dependency that quickly crosses the
line into insanity and obsession.
The newly
released trailer gives you a nice reality check. Go from showing the classic
cloying interactions of any dating sim, to dark corridors and your supposed
beloved holding a bloody knife. The most disturbing thing about the whole thing
is that the Chinese monkey breaks the digital barrier, literally escaping from
the device to hunt you around your house in the real world, but not before
leaving you a friendly warning so that you don't even think about pressing the
uninstall button.
A bloody
and replayable escape
In terms
of gameplay, the experience combines classic visual novel talks
with mini-games and direct exploration sections where you will have to hide
from your toxic girlfriend to survive the night. According to the studio, the
first round will take you about two or three hours of pure panic, but the title
is designed for you to repeat it, unlocking new clues and hidden scenes to
understand what the hell goes through Airi's source code and what its true
intentions are.
