An office worker with nothing special adopts
what looks like an ordinary bird. The bird turns out to be a sage from another
world. A new trailer and promotional image for the long-awaited second season
of the anime adaptation of Sasaki and Peeps (Sasaki to
Pii-chan) has been revealed, officially confirming its return to Japanese
television for the month of October.
A detail that has attracted a lot of attention
is the update in the staff credits, reflecting well-deserved
promotions and greater responsibilities for several key members who worked in
the first season within the studio.
The most notable change in production is
that Yushi Ibe, who in the first season worked as an episode
director and assistant director, now takes over the full direction of the
series at SILVER LINK. It's an internal promotion that maintains
the continuity of the original team while bringing a different perspective to
the head of the project. Yamato Ouchi, also an episode director in
the first installment, becomes assistant director. Deko Akao continues
as the show's writer, and the full cast of the first season returns to their
respective roles.
The Production Team
The second season is directed by Yushi
Ibe at SILVER LINK, with Deko Akao continuing
as the show's writer. The character design and lead animation direction are
still in the hands of Saori Nakashiki and Yuki Sawairi.
Music is still the responsibility of Koji Fujimoto and Osamu
Sasaki.
About Sasaki and Peeps
Sasaki and Peeps is a series of light novels by Buncololi with
illustrations by Kantoku that began publication in January
2021 and has thirteen volumes, with the most recent released in March 2026. The
series won categories at Takarajimasha's Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi!. Pureji
Osho's manga adaptation is also still in serialization. The first
season of the anime premiered in January 2024 with a special one-hour broadcast
and completed 12 episodes. The story follows Sasaki, an office
worker whose everyday life takes a radical turn when he adopts a bird that
turns out to be a powerful sage from another world, capable of granting
supernatural abilities and opening doors to alternate dimensions.
