The Project Anima competition has been proving for years that the best ideas don't always come from the biggest studios. Mebius Dust, the third project to hit the screen since that initiative, has just released its first main trailer and a new promotional image by Doga Kobo, confirming its premiere for July 9, 2026. The video reveals the ending of the season, previews the already announced opening and introduces the new cast members.

The ending is called "Dilemma" and is performed by Ai Tomioka. The opening "Mebius" is in charge of Leo Ieiri, a name that had already been confirmed previously and that in this trailer can be heard for the first time. Along with the video, the team also revealed a new promotional image for the project.

The story follows three young people; Araki, his younger sister Stella, and his childhood friend Olga, who form a team called Polis Hopper and engage in a game of conquering territories using supernatural abilities called Rams. Their world changes when Dr. Yuda, a researcher for the Rams, summons them to participate in an experiment.

The Production Team

The direction is in charge of Taro Iwasaki, known for Baki the Grappler and One Week Friends. The scripts are written by Yoriko Tomita, with credits on The Elusive Samurai and the two seasons of My Dress-Up Darling. The character design is the work of Hatsume Kojima, the music is composed by DE MOUSE and the sound direction is by Takeshi Takadera.

Mebius Dust is based on a story by Hajime Shinagawa that won the grand prize in the "Kids/Game" category of the Project Anima contest in 2019. The plot takes place ten years after a mysterious meteorite hit Earth, an event that triggered the emergence of the so-called Rams Carriers: people who develop superhuman abilities known as Rams. The problem is that those who develop these powers can only survive in the presence of the Mebius Dust, a substance released by a giant crystal, which condemns them to live within the limits of the city of Shinkatsushika without the possibility of leaving. Within that confined space, the young Rams Carriers channel their energy into a game of conquering territories, and that's where the story of Araki and his team begins. Project Anima was an initiative that invited the general public to submit proposals through user-created content platforms. The two previous projects of the contest that came to the screen were Sakugan in 2021 and the adaptation of Maho Tsukai ni Narenakatta Onna no Ko no Hanashi in 2024.
