About The Ogre's Bride

For those who spend their time ignoring the massive successes of the print market until they see the animated ad, this franchise is an absolute titan in Japan. Originally born as a series of light novels written by Kureha and illustrated by Yu Shiroya on the Novema! platform in 2019, the work garnered so much popularity that it inspired a successful manga adaptation by Jun Togashi. Together, both formats have already surpassed the colossal figure of 5.8 million copies in circulation, and even had a live-format film in March 2024 that swept the box office selling 146,000 tickets in just its first three days.

The premise immerses us in a version of Japan where humans and demons coexist in total harmony. Yuzu is a completely ordinary high school student who lives overshadowed under the gigantic shadow of her older sister, who managed to marry a high-status demon. However, her drab and underrated existence changes radically after a chance encounter with a powerful and extremely handsome oni named Reiya Kiryuin, who immediately claims her as his legitimate girlfriend, pushing her to a destiny full of mysticism, romance and new family challenges.

The concept of supernatural romances with traditional deities always has a huge magnet to trap us with its drama and mysticism.
