Living forever sounds like anyone's ultimate
dream, but sharing a home with six siblings who have been supporting each other
for more than a thousand years is a recipe for disaster. The otaku community has
a new reason to celebrate, as the animated adaptation of the
acclaimed Millennium Family (Odoru Sennen Kazoku)
manga, written and illustrated by Akira Kasugai, has been
officially confirmed. The news came accompanied by a colorful promotional image
and a first video preview that presents us with the chaotic tone of this
proposal.
The premise of this story introduces us to the
Benfield family, seven immortal brothers who have wandered the world separately
for centuries due to an ancient curse. After a long time apart, the seven
decide to reunite to try to live together under the same roof, unleashing a
coexistence full of absurd comedy and daily fights. However, the tranquility
will be short-lived, as a mysterious organization interested in snatching the
secret of eternal life from them will begin to hunt down the family, forcing
them to fight together in sequences of frenetic action.
A passionate team at the helm of animation
Behind the scenes, the talented Masato
Jinbo will take the reins of the project by not only directing the
series, but also writing the composition of the overall scripts. The animation
will be in charge of the PartsCraft studio, owned by Jinbo
himself, with Hiroshi Yoneda leading the character designs.
The director promised that the production will hold absolutely nothing back and
will portray these extravagant brothers in an extremely lively and bloody way,
honoring the frenetic pace of the printed material that has been serialized
in Young King OURs magazine since 2021.
