We were
just processing the exciting closing of its first installment and the
production team decided not to make us wait a second to give us the best news
possible. After the broadcast of its 24th episode, the anime adaptation of (Yomi no Tsugai) officially confirmed that it
will have a second season, accompanying the reveal with a promotional
image and a first trailer that left us wanting more.
The first
teaser presented at the conclusion of the broadcast showed fundamental
characters of the story such as Yuru, Asa, Left, Right, Gabu-chan, Dera and
Hana in action, in addition to anticipating the appearance of Ivan and
Misasagi, the leader of Nishinomura's side who follows in the footsteps of the
protagonist twins. During the video, Yuru gives us a phrase that perfectly
reflects the atmosphere of intrigue that surrounds this adventure: don't
believe anything until you see it with your own eyes.
The first
part of the series was continuously broadcast for two consecutive semesters
between April and September 2026. The production was in charge of the Bones
Film studio under the direction of Masahiro Ando, with Noboru
Takagi supervising the scripts, Nobuhiro Arai in the character
design and animation direction, while Kenichiro Suehiro was in charge of
composing the soundtrack.
The voice
cast features Kensho Ono as Yuru and Yume Miyamoto playing Asa.
They are joined by voices with enormous experience in the industry such as Yuichi
Nakamura in the role of Dera, Misaki Kuno as Gabu-chan, Takako
Honda as Left, Rikiya Koyama in the role of Right, Miyuri
Shimabukuro as Hana, Junichi Suwabe as Jin, Akira Ishida as
Asuma Kagemori, Shinichiro Miki as Ivan Yosano, Kappei Yamaguchi
in the role of Hikaru Kagemori and Yoshiko Sakakibara like Kai. Although
the exact date for the premiere of the new chapters has not yet been revealed,
the continuity of the story is already a fact.

This story
is the most recent work written and illustrated by Hiromu Arakawa, the
legendary creator responsible for true manga classics such as Fullmetal
Alchemist and Silver Spoon. The original work began publication in
the pages of Square Enix's Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine in December
2021, accumulating more than 7.5 million copies in circulation to date.
The plot
revolves around twins Yuru and Asa, born under the prophecy of separating day
and night. After being separated from a very young age in a remote village
guarded by two stone guardians, both are unaware of the true power they possess
to rule the Daemons, supernatural creatures that operate in pairs under the
orders of certain humans. Now, both brothers must unravel the mysteries of
their destiny and find a way to reunite while facing dangerous factions that
seek to control their abilities.
