If you
thought that the genre of fantastic beings living in the modern world had
already shown it all, the anime industry has a rather peculiar way of reminding
us that creativity knows no limits. The publisher Kadokawa officially announced
that the crazy manga Where is the Elf Teacher's Toilet? (Elf-Sensei
no Toire wa Doko Desu ka?) will have its own television adaptation,
promising to bring to the screen one of the most absurd and comical premises of
recent years.
The story
introduces us to Eruru, an elf in training as a teacher who travels from a
fantastical world to start working as a teacher in an ordinary human school.
Although living with the students seems normal at first glance, the young woman
faces a monumental biological problem: due to their mystical nature, elves can
only relieve themselves in totally natural environments, surrounded by abundant
vegetation and wildflowers.
This
particular restriction turns any ordinary day within the concrete jungle into a
true survival mission. While trying to professionally fulfill his teaching
duties in front of the students, Eruru must desperately look for any green
corner within the modern city in order to alleviate his urgencies without
breaking the traditions of his species, unleashing all kinds of hilarious and
uncomfortable situations.
The work is
the brainchild of Chizuna Nakajima, who began publishing the stories of
this troubled teacher in the pages of Kadokawa's Comic Cune magazine in
January 2024. To celebrate the news of the anime, the author himself shared a
special illustration dedicated to the followers who have supported the
publication since its first chapters.
