Hiding your
true abilities to lead a quiet life in a fantasy world is usually the goal of
any reincarnated, but things almost never go according to plan. The animated
adaptation of the manga The Fake Alchemist (Nisemono no
Renkinjutsushi) officially revealed its first video trailer, introducing
the main voices that will bring the protagonists to life and the creative team
in charge of the project.
In this
adventure, voice actor Yohei Matsuoka will take on the lead role as
Paracelsus, a reincarnated alchemist who tries to go unnoticed while hiding an
unusual power. For her part, actress Miyari Nemoto will lend her voice
to Nora, a young shaman with whom the protagonist establishes a decisive contract
that will completely change the course of his modest daily life.
The
production of the series will be in charge of the well-known Passione
studio, with the general direction of Takeo Takahashi, recognized for
his work in installments such as Spice and Wolf: merchant meets the wise
wolf and Wasteful Days of High School Girl. The direction of the
project falls to Hijiri Sanpei, while the writing and supervision of the
scripts is in charge of Kenta Ihara, famous for his participation in
titles such as Saga of Tanya the Evil and Ishura. The character
design will be adapted by Yuka Takashina, and the musical composition
will be in the hands of Luke Standridge.

Sugiura and illustrated by Umemaru, the work began its digital
publication on the KadoComi portal of the Kadokawa publishing house in June
2023, currently having five compilation volumes in the Japanese market.
Interestingly, Sugiura is also the creator of the comedy My Wife Has No
Emotion, a story that had its own television adaptation in July 2024.
The plot of
The Fake Alchemist is set in the city-state of Orichalconia, a place
where alchemy and magic are an essential part of daily life. Paracelsus lives
there, who tries to survive in a humble way by keeping his trap skills secret.
However, his routine takes a radical turn after he makes a pact with Nora and
rescues Coco, an elf who has lost her four limbs and five senses. What begins
as a simple rescue mission in an artisan workshop soon escalates into a huge
battle involving alchemy, sorcery, space dimensions, and even the gods themselves.
