The
universe of the most powerful slug in fantasy does not stop growing and this
time the good news comes twice. The Tensei Shitara Slime Datta franchise Ken
released a couple of important announcements for its followers: the manga
focused on Clayman's redemption will make the leap to television with its own
anime, while the monumental fourth season has already set the date for the
premiere of its third cours.
The most
memorable villain of the Walpurgis banquet is ready to reclaim the limelight
that was stolen from him. The animated adaptation of the spin-off manga That
Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Clayman's Revenge (Tensei Shitara
Slime Datta Ken: Clayman Revenge) will officially premiere in April 2027.
This proposal written by Fuse and illustrated by Wataru Kajika places Clayman
right after his tragic end at the festival, waking up in the past with his
memories intact and the opportunity to rewrite his destiny so as not to end up
crushed by Rimuru's empire.
The project
will be produced by the 8-Bit studio under the direction of Kentaro
Sugimoto. The supervision and writing of the scripts will be in the hands
of Yuji Haibara, who already knew the ins and outs of the franchise
after being in charge of the graphic design in previous installments. Meanwhile,
Asumi Hashimoto and Hideki Sakai will take on character design. In
addition, the long-awaited return of legendary voice actor Takehito Koyasu
was confirmed to lend his voice again to the calculating puppeteer.
The
fourth season prepares its return to the screens
As if it
were not enough to have the enemy trying not to die in an alternate timeline,
the main story continues its steady march. The production team revealed that
the third cours of the fourth season of Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken
will arrive in July 2027, giving continuity to the ambitious five-part
project that began broadcasting in April 2026.
This
installment will maintain the usual animation house with the 8-Bit
studio at the helm and actress Miho Okasaki reprising her starring role
as Rimuru Tempest. After the broadcast of its first two parts continuously,
fans will have a brief pause before diving into the following political and war
arcs that consolidate the Jura Tempest Federation on the world map.

Originally
born in 2013 as a web novel written by Fuse on the Shosetsuka ni Naro
portal, the franchise made the leap to the printed format with Mitz Vah's
illustrations under the Micro Magazine label in 2014, concluding its main story
after 23 published volumes. The plot follows in the footsteps of Satoru Mikami,
an average office worker who is stabbed to death in Tokyo and is reborn in a
magical world turned into a modest but ridiculously powerful slug capable of
absorbing the abilities of everything she devours.
Over the
years, the work has garnered massive success thanks to Taiki Kawakami's popular
manga adaptation, its multiple spin-off series, video games, and high-grossing
film installments such as Tears of the Azure Sea. The franchise remains
one of the modern mainstays of the fantasy and isekai genre in the Japanese
industry.
