Keeping up
with a monthly publication is complicated enough, but when your country's own
climate becomes the main enemy of your joints, the situation becomes uphill.
Unfortunately for those who closely follow Border's tactical battles, Jump
SQ. magazine confirmed that the World Trigger manga will not appear
in its November issue, forcing readers to wait a little longer to see the
continuation of the story.
Through a
heartfelt message shared with his followers, mangaka Daisuke Ashihara
apologized for stringing together two consecutive absences from the magazine,
confirming that the work will not return to the pages until the December
installment, scheduled to go on sale on November 4. The author had no qualms
about explaining the unusual but painful reason behind this new delay in his
work schedule.
As many
recall, Ashihara long ago suffered a serious neck injury that kept him away
from deliveries for an extended period. Although medical treatment helped him
regain a lot of mobility and reduce daily discomfort, the creative noticed an
extremely uncomfortable pattern: pain and cervical stiffness worsen drastically
every time the weather deteriorates. To try to meet his deadlines, the author
usually contemplates in his routine a margin of four or five days a month in
which he is practically bedridden without being able to draw.
The main
problem occurred when a series of typhoons and prolonged rains hit the Kanto
region consecutively. This weather instability completely destroyed Ashihara's
cushion of days off for emergencies, making it impossible to finish the
manuscripts on time. Given the severity of the weather in recent years, the
cartoonist admitted that it is very difficult for him to maintain a constant
routine, so he is currently trying new working methods to adapt his rhythm
without putting his physical health at risk.

Trigger is a
science fiction action manga written and illustrated by Daisuke Ashihara,
which began its run in the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in
February 2013 before moving to the monthly publication Jump SQ. in
December 2018. The plot is set in the city of Mikado, a place besieged by
mysterious interdimensional creatures known as Neighbors, where the Border
Defense Agency combats the threat using its own technology. The story follows
Yuma Kuga, a human-like Neighbor who arrives on Earth, and Osamu Mikumo, an
agent-in-training who seeks to protect the innocent while the two team up to
rise through the ranks of the organization.
