There is
nothing more dangerous in this world than crossing the path of a witch capable
of wiping an entire country off the map in a single sneeze. The animated
adaptation of the light novels Witch and Mercenary (Majo to Yohei)
officially released its first full trailer along with a new promotional image,
confirming that this dark fantasy and survival adventure will hit screens in April
2027.
The video
trailer served to show the tone of the series and expand the voice cast that
will accompany this journey. In addition to the already announced protagonists,
Saori Hayami as the feared witch Siasha and Taito Ban in the role
of the mercenary Zig Crane, new talents are added. Actress Yuri Noguchi
will play Isana Gihon, a rank two swordswoman nicknamed "Snow White,"
while Hiromu Mineta will play Alan Clows, the rank four group leader,
and Haruka Shiraishi will play the mysterious adventurer Elicia Armel
Behind the
scenes, animation house 8-Bit is leading the production under the
direction of Shinpei Ezaki. The supervision and writing of the scripts
is in charge of Taishirou Tanimura with the support of Shingo Irie in
the assistance, while Keita Matsumoto is in charge of adapting the
character designs for the screen in addition to leading the animation direction
with Hideki Sakai and Sorato Shimizu. The soundtrack will be composed by Rei
Ishizuka under the Lantis record label, accompanied by a visual section
supervised by Kazuhiro Inoue in the art direction.

Chohokiteki, the original story began its journey on the digital portal
Shosetsuka ni Naro between June 2021 and December 2022. The publisher Micro
Magazine began publishing the work on paper with illustrations by Bench
Kanase in May 2023, also adding a manga version illustrated by Makoto
Miyagi that has been published since January 2024. The plot introduces us to a
world where witches are feared as real walking catastrophes capable of
summoning floods or devastating entire nations overnight. Tired of constantly
fighting for her life against hunters and armies, the witch Siasha hires the
services of Zig, a hardened mercenary, to embark on a journey to unknown lands
where she can live in peace.
