The battles between science and magic are far from over, and to the joy of its fans, the story of love and political intrigue between Iska and Aliceliese will live on on the small screen. During the special Fantasia Bunko Grand Thanksgiving Festival 2026 Online event held this Sunday, it was formally announced that the animated series Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World (Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjo, Arui wa Sekai ga Hajimaru Seisen) will have a third season.
The
announcement was accompanied by a first promotional image drawn by character
designer Kaori Yoshikawa, in which Iska and Rin are seen preparing to
infiltrate the Empire with the aim of rescuing Sisbell, while Aliceliese
watches them with obvious concern from a distance. For this new stage, SILVER
LINK and Studio Palette studios will once again join forces in animation
production, keeping Yuki Inaba as director and responsible for
overseeing the scripts, while Kaori Yoshikawa will again be in charge of
character designs.
The cast of main voice actors will also remain intact to
give continuity to the characters. Yusuke Kobayashi will return in the
role of Iska, accompanied by Sora Amamiya giving life to Princess
Aliceliese Lou Nebulis IX. The cast is completed with the performances of Nao
Shiraki as Mismis Klass, Kaori Ishihara playing Nene Alkastone, Shunichi
Toki playing Jhin Syulargun, Yumiri Hanamori as Rin Vispose and Azumi
Waki lending his voice to the third princess Sisbell Lou Nebulis IX.
The author of the light novels, Kei Sazane, dedicated a
message of thanks to fans for their constant support, highlighting that this
third installment will address events on a much larger scale and reveal
fundamental secrets that go to the very heart of the plot. This confirmation
represents a moment of stability for the franchise, recalling that the first
season aired in October 2020, while the second season went through a complete
restructuring in its schedule after suspending its broadcast in mid-2024 to
ensure visual quality standards, resuming its broadcast from the first episode
in April 2025.
Our Last
Crusade or the Rise of a New World is a series of fantasy and science fiction light novels written by Kei
Sazane and illustrated by Ao Nekonabe. The work began to be
published under the imprint of the Kadokawa publishing house in May 2017,
accumulating 16 volumes printed to date. Its popularity led to a manga
adaptation drawn by Okama in Young Animal magazine starting in May 2018, which
was collected in seven volumes, in addition to having a series of secondary
novels titled Secret File.
The story
takes us to a world divided by a prolonged military conflict between the
Empire, a power guided by high technological development, and the Sovereignty of
Nebulis, a nation inhabited by witches who dominate astral magic. The plot
follows Iska, the youngest swordsman to hold the title of the Empire's supreme
force, and Aliceliese Lou Nebulis IX, the crown princess of the rival side.
Despite facing each other on the battlefield as sworn enemies, the two discover
a deep connection through their ideals of peace and mutual respect.
