The Comiket and the Red Cross collaborate in a blood donation campaign

0
This year's edition of the Comic Market (Comiket 98) was canceled due to COVID-19, however, the organizing committee is promoting the blood donation campaign in collaboration with the Japan Red Cross for the sake of public health. Between May 21 and June 30, donating 400 milliliters of blood to any Red Cross medical center in Japan will allow the donor to receive one of the commemorative illustrations.

Due to the critical health situation Japan is going through, the committee asked potential donors to make an appointment with the health center they are going to attend, and to follow the health recommendations given by the government. The Comiket committee emphasized that the situation is subject to change, and recommended that donors be aware of official networks before leaving their homes.

Illustrations offered by the Comiket

According to the statement, the illustrations that people who donate 400 milliliters of blood may receive include the following franchises:

  • Hololive's Virtual YouTuber, Houshou Marine.
  • Shironeko Project: Zero Chronicle.
  • Granblue Fantasy.
  • Princess Connect! Re: Dive.
  • Argonavis from BanG Dream !.
  • Alice Gear Aegis.

The Comiket committee is also collaborating with the Nico Nico Net Cho Kaigi platform to hold the “Air Comiket” event, between May 1 and 5. This virtual event will replace the actual event that was to take place at the Tokyo Big Sight between May 2 and 5. Various intellectual properties of manga and anime have previously collaborated with the Japan Red Cross, such as Hataraku Saibou! and Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai !.
