The film is slated to open this summer in a limited number of theaters. For its part, Donuts released the original game for iOS and Android devices in February and November 2014, respectively. The franchise previously inspired several adaptations to manga and novels.
The game inspired an animated music video titled "ts7 Longing for summer Again and Again ~ Harukaze ~" as "Part 1" of an animation project in 2017.
