It was announced that the manga written and illustrated by Kaishaku, Kannazuki no Miko, has started the serialization of a new spin-off manga titled Himekami no Miko. The work began its serialization in the July issue of the Dengeki Maoh magazine of the Kadokawa publishing house, published today.
The Kaishaku duo began publishing the original manga in Kadokawa's Shonen Ace magazine in October 2004 and completed it in 2005. The publisher compiled the work in a total of two volumes.
This manga inspired a twelve episode anime adaptation produced by TNK studios under the direction of Tetsuya Yanagisawa, and released in October 2004.
For its part, Kaishaku is made up of artists Hitoshi Ota and Terumasa Shichinohe. Other works by this duo include Steel Angel Kurumi, Magical Nyan Nyan Taruto, UFO Princess Valkyrie, and Koishiro to Towa no Sora.
Synopsis of Kannazuki no Miko
The shy Himeko loves Chikane, the beautiful and brilliant "princess" of the exclusive school for foreigners. She has been looking forward to her 16th birthday with great excitement for weeks. But on that fateful day, a shrine appears in the sky, giant robots destroy the school, and Himeko discovers that she is the reincarnation of the Sun Priestess, while Chikane is the reincarnation of the Moon Priestess.
As darker secrets are revealed only one thing becomes clear ... their lives will never be the same.
