The app is titled "Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san VR 1st Semester," and the app allows the user to interact with the character Takagi-san (played by Rie Takahashi, as in anime adaptations), in four different settings inspired by different scenes from the manga.
The app is available for Oculus Rift S, Oculus Rift, HTC VIVE, and HTC VIVE Pro HMD platforms, with plans for an expanded version in the future. The price is 1,490 yen (approximately $ 14).
On the other hand, the manga is written and illustrated by Souichirou Yamamoto, who has published it in Shogakukan's Monthly Shonen Sunday magazine since June 2013, with a total of thirteen compilation volumes published to date.
The work inspired a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by Shin-Ei Animation studios, directed by Hiroaki Akagi and scripts written by Michiko Yokote, released in January 2018, with a second season released in July 2019.
Synopsis of Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san
"If you blush, you lose."
Living in accordance with this principle, Takagi-san constantly mocks his partner Nishikata. Nishikata, with his pride shattered, promises to turn the situation around and take revenge on it one day. And then, he tries to tease her day after day, only to see himself the victim of Takagi-san's ridicule, sooner rather than later. Will he be able to make Takagi-san blush out of embarrassment even once in the end?
