The official website for the Ingress anime based on the Niantic AR game revealed the main cast, story, and image of the anime. The site also revealed that the anime will air worldwide on Netflix. It will also air on Fuji TV's new “+ Ultra” programming block starting in October.
Synopsis
Since he was little, Makoto had a strange power that allowed him to read the memories of the objects he touched. Hiding his uncontrollable power, he works as a special agent in the police force. One day, while investigating an explosion in a laboratory investigating an unknown substance called "XM", he sees a mysterious memory. The memory came from Sarah's ring, who was the only survivor of the accident. It was a vision of a person being swallowed into a red light and disappearing. Makoto is engulfed in a massive conspiracy. The battle for "XM", a material that could affect the human mind, begins now.

Niantic released Ingress in 2012, and the company revealed a sequel titled Ingress Prime in December. The new sequel is slated for this fall. The app has inspired various manga adaptations.

Yūhei Sakuragi (Soutai Sekai) is directing the anime in the Craftar studio with assistant director Yoshinari Irikawa. Sōki Tsukishima (Final Fantasy Reishiki Change the World novels) and Tora Tsukishima are writing the scripts. Hidehiro Kawai (Soutai Sekai, Phantom of the Kill -Zero Kara no Hangyaku-) is composing the music. Takeshi Honda (Beyond, Ao no Rokugo, Dennou Coil, Sennen Joyuu) is credited with the original character design. Atsushi Furukawa is the director of CGI. Hiroshi Katō (Totonyan) and Hirofumi Sakagami are directing the art with the help of Hōmi Arai. Masashi Miyaoka serves as modeling director. Maru Kobayashi is the animation director and Tatsuya Nomura is the cinematographer.
