Domestic na Kanojo author responds to criticism of manga finale

In recent days, the end of the Domestic na Kanojo manga series caused a huge furor on social media, especially on Twitter. The reason is that several followers of the manga abroad began to strongly criticize the outcome of the story saying that "it was a meaningless ending." Given this type of comment, the author of the manga Kei Sasuga decided to make a series of statements through her official Twitter account.

Among some of their responses you can read the following:

"Entering Twitter has become somewhat difficult for me. There are many angry and critical people who come from abroad. Regarding this situation, I think there are many readers who did not understand the characters very well, I would gladly write a book explaining the thoughts of each of them, but it is obvious that it would not sell very well.

Criticism is welcome and does not bother me at all. Honestly, at first if I was a little heartbroken since all kinds of insults came to me and well, it is well known that blocking people on Twitter can only make things worse. Because of this, I will stop paying attention to those types of comments and I will no longer be as active on Twitter as for important announcements. However, I will still be quite active on Pixiv.

Thank you very much for your support, whatever country you are from! ”

Sasuga began publishing the Domestic na Kanojo manga in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine in April 2014. The publisher published the twenty-seventh compilation volume on May 15 and will publish the twenty-eighth and final on August 17.

The play inspired an anime adaptation released in January 2019 and directed by Shouta Ihata at Diomedea Studios. Minami performed the opening track titled "Kawaki wo Ameku".

He soon discovers that his new sisters are none other than Hina and Rui.
