Evangelion collaborates in an eye drops commercial

Eight years ago, the Japanese company Santen Pharmaceuticals ran a promotional campaign titled “Human Refreshment Project,” which featured characters from the Evangelion franchise in a commercial for a few eye drops. Now, the promotional campaign “New Project of Human Awakening” has been launched again, again promoting an eye medication.

The company released a commercial for this new product line, which features narration by Kotono Mitsuishi, voiced by Misato Katsuragi. The pack includes four varieties to choose from, starring Shinji Ikari, Kaworu Nagisa, Rei Ayanami, and Asuka Langley Soryu.

About Evangelion

The original series premiered in Japan in October 1995, featuring 26 episodes written and directed by Hideaki Anno at Gainax Studios in collaboration with Tatsunoko Production. On the other hand, the movie Evangelion: 3.0 + 1.0: Thrice Upon a Time, the last in the tetralogy of the new Evangelion project, was scheduled to be released on June 27 in Japan. However, due to the health situation the country is going through caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the decision was made to delay it indefinitely. The new release date will be announced as soon as it is decided.

Additionally, Netflix acquired the distribution license for the original series and movies for the franchise, except for those for the Rebuild project. The first three films of the project were released in 2007, 2009 and 2012.
