Ikebukuro West Gate Park anime delays release date

On the official Twitter account for the anime adaptation of the novels written by Ire Ishida, Ikebukuro West Gate Park, it was announced that the premiere of the series will be postponed.


The anime was scheduled to premiere in July, however, due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on production, the decision was made to delay the premiere until October of this year.

For her part, Ishida has written thirteen novels for the series. It inspired a popular live-action series in 2000, as well as a special in 2003. Sena Aritou published a manga adaptation in Akita Shoten's Young Champion magazine between 2001 and 2004. Sho Kitagawa published another manga adaptation. in 2015.

Synopsis of Ikebukuro West Gate Park

The mystery novel is set in the Ikebukuro neighborhood of Tokyo, under the eponym Ikebukuro Nishiguchi Kōen. The story centers on Makoto Majima, the son of a local fruit vendor and known as the "Ikebukuro problem solver". The boy helps everyone, from friends to strangers, to solve many and varied incidents.
