A new promotional video for the project was posted on the official site for Studio Colorido's original film Nakitai Watashi wa Neko wo Kaburu. The video shows a fragment of the musical theme performed by Yorushika and titled "Hana ni Bourei".
The film was scheduled to be released on June 5 in Japanese cinemas but after the declaration of a state of emergency in Japan in April, it was postponed and now, this feature film will be released through the Netflix platform from next June 18 globally.
