Pokémon: Developer Game Freak Is Hiring Staff

0
Casual Pokémon players surely claim that the installments are developed by Nintendo. After all, the name of the company is on the package, with the exception of some games for smartphones, but they assure that the series of Pokémon games is always developed by Nintendo.

But the truth is that this franchise is neither designed nor created in the Nintendo facilities in Kyoto, but in the offices of the developer Game Freak located in Tokyo. The existence of this company is easily ignored because it is relatively small when compared to Nintendo, who acts as the distributor of the deliveries and ultimately ends up overshadowing it. However, it turns out that Game Freak has decided to expand and is now looking for new talents.

Offers

Game Freak seeks to hire graphic designers in eight different categories, as well as multiple classes of programmers, game planners, and technical assistants. Additionally, he is looking for construction engineers, tool programmers, information systems personnel, and even people working in his human resources department, for a total of 23 vacancies. And while many companies generally recruit recent graduates especially, Game Freak specifically requests seasoned applicants.

Describing the company's culture, the Game Freak announcement states that the jobs it offers are recommended for people who:

  • Have an uncompromising focus on fun as a goal of video game development.
  • They want to work on creating fun.
  • Have a strong interest in video game development.
  • Be active communicators and have no problems with teamwork.

If the reader is interested in one of these job offers, applications to apply for an online interview are submitted to the Japanese job site Creative Village. As a Japanese company, a level of proficiency in business Japanese is likely required, but in a world where The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild featured a foreign designer, there is no reason then for anyone not to be able to participate.
