On June 18, the anime adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Kouji Kumeta, Kakushigoto, came to an end. The manga series also has the end of its serialization scheduled for the next edition of Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine on July 6. The Animate Times website conducted an interview with the author, where he was asked why he decided to end the manga alongside the anime adaptation.

Kumeta replied that, as a reader, he felt that the original material had already been finished when the anime ended. He felt strange since the serialization of the manga still continued even after the end of the anime and also mentioned that it feels too long for him to watch the American series recently when they have two or more seasons. He even pointed out the youth lifestyle, his guess is that they are busy with social media, so he feels that a bow was more than enough. He also added that he would have happily continued drawing the manga if it had sold more, and revealed that the anime adaptation did in fact help the manga end with twelve volumes rather than ten.

Regarding the anime, Kumeta mentioned that the quality, the direction of episodes and the balance surprised him so much that he asked himself: "Did I really write this?". In the interview, the author noted that it was quite difficult not to include dirty jokes to maintain the concept of the work and not to stray from the concept of "life accounts". It is worth mentioning the following words that he said: “I will be sincere. Don't worry about the manga, better watch the anime, "and praised the anime's director, Yuuta Murano, for his passion and excellent direction.

Furthermore, Kumeta has published the Kakushigoto manga in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine since November 2015. The publisher published the eleventh compilation volume on March 17. The play inspired a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by Ajia-do Animation Works studios, directed by Yuuta Murano and scripts written by Takashi Aoshima, released on April 2.
