For his part, Nihei published the manga in Kodansha's Afternoon magazine between April 2009 and September 2015. The publisher compiled the work in a total of fifteen volumes.
The play inspired a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by Polygon Pictures Studios, directed by Koubun Shizuno and screenplays written by Sadayuki Murai, released in April 2014. A second twelve-episode season premiered in April 2015.
