The manga's author, Reiji Miyajima, in conjunction with character designer and animation director Kanna Hirayama, celebrated the character's first appearance by doing some special illustrations.
Finally, Kanna Hirayama revealed the animation sketches of Ruka's dance in the anime's opening sequence.
For her part, Miyajima began publishing the manga in Kodansha publisher's Weekly Shonen Magazine in July 2017. The publisher published its 15th compiled volume on June 17.

The play is inspiring a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by TMS Entertainment studios, directed by Kazuomi Koga and scripts written by Mitsutaka Hirota, which premiered on July 10 in Japan.
