My Hero Academy will release a new OVA this month

On the official site for the anime adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Kohei Horikoshi, My Hero Academia announced the release of a two-episode OVA titled “Boku no Hero Academia: Ikinokore! Kesshi no Survival Kunren. " The OVA will be released through the Crunchyroll and Funimation platforms on August 15.


Additionally, it is also confirmed that the OVAs Boku no Hero Academia: Sukue! Kyuujo Kunren! released in April 2017 and Boku no Hero Academia: Training of the Dead released in June 2017, will arrive on streaming platforms on August 30.

For his part, Horikoshi began publishing the manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in July 2014. The publisher published the 26th compilation volume on March 4 and the 27th on July 3.

The four seasons of the anime adaptation of the manga have been produced by Bones Studios, and premiered in April 2016, April 2017, April 2018 and October 2019, respectively; accumulating as a whole a total of 88 episodes. A fifth season is confirmed since April of this year, but no new details have been revealed about it.

Synopsis of the new OVA from My Hero Academy

The story unfolds during the events of the third season, just before the protagonists take the exam to obtain their provisional hero licenses.

In this original new adventure, some Class 1-A students are sent to hone their survival skills in a training course. Still having to receive their provisional licenses, the boys are eager to let go and have a little fun.

But they quickly discover that the danger they face is not training! They will have to work as a team and think quickly if they want to pass this test.
