In this year's 43rd issue of Kodansha publisher's Weekly Young Magazine, it was revealed that the manga written and illustrated by Hitomi Takano, Watashi no Shounen, will come to an end with its next chapter on October 26.
For unspecified reasons, this date coincides with the launch not of the next issue of the magazine (which would be issue number 44), but issue number 48. For his part, Takano began publishing the manga in Monthly Action magazine from Futabasha Publishing House in December 2015, and subsequently moved to Kodansha Publishing House's Weekly Young Magazine in 2018. The publisher published the eighth compiled volume on June 5.
Watashi no Shounen Synopsis
Satoko Tawada is an office worker. She is almost 30 years old, but has not yet been able to find happiness in her life. Fate brings Mashuu Hayami before her, a beautiful 12-year-old boy whom she finds playing soccer in the park alone. On a whim, Satoko decides to help Mashuu with her practice, with her knowledge of the sport at her disposal.
The practices become their daily routine, and the two develop an emotional bond. Also, when Satoko's ex-boyfriend cheats on her, Mashuu gladly comforts her. Now, when Satoko discovers the constant absence of Mashuu's parents in her life, she begins to worry about her personal life. The two lonely souls find common ground in their misery and develop an emotional bond that transcends age and circumstances. With this newly discovered bond, new feelings begin to sprout within Satoko. Is this your natural mother instinct? Or is it something else ...?
