Through their official Twitter account, the family of voice actress Hikari Yono reported the death of the artist on November 15th. The statement said that the voice actress was receiving medical treatment for an illness before her death.
"To all of us, we are the family of Hikari Yono. Yono was undergoing medical treatment, but died on November 15. She lived a life during which she gave herself with passion to her work in voice acting. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all those who supported her in her life. May Hikari Yono's voice endure in the industry and always be remembered through her.
皆様へ よのひかりの家族です。よのは病気療養中でしたが、2020年11月15日に永眠致しました。声の仕事を愛し抜いた人生でした。生前よのを応援して下さったすべての皆様に心より感謝申し上げます。よのひかりの声は作品の中で生き続けます。どうか作品と共によのの声を忘れないでいてあげてください

Yono has played a variety of supporting roles in the anime industry since 2001, including Okojo Okaasan in Siawase Apartment's Okojo-san, Tamura-sensei in Ultra Maniac, Obecitus in Mahou Shoujo Tai Arusu, Samui in Naruto, Fukuko Yanagisawa in Furusato JAPAN, and Rumiko in Hal. In addition, she also participated as the voice of Kaolinite in Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Crystal and was the narrator in the recent animation project Burn the Witch.
