After announcing that the film Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time (Shin Evangelion Gekijouban: ||), the latest film of the Rebuild of Evangelion film project, will be shown in IMAX cinemas in Japan, the official Twitter account published a strange update that is normally used to publish information about the franchise. The publication politely asked readers to silence the account or the hashtags #シンエヴァ and #シン・エヴァンゲリオン劇場版 to avoid spoilers of the film, which will be released in Japan on January 23, 2021, and even apologized for any future inconvenience.

While the posting could be seen as extremely polite and considerate for those looking to get "fresh" to the premiere and avoid spoilers, the fact that the account goes so far as to warn people about spoilers from the next movie that will possibly be released is also a cover to avoid future claims. In fact, it is worth mentioning that the pre-screenings for the staff and producers of the feature film were already held a few days ago, which means that there are already people in the world who have seen Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time and that gives rise to possible leaks.
Prior to the release of the film, NTV, Neon Genesis Evangelion's long time broadcaster, will also air some select episodes of the original series, as well as all the films of the Rebuild of Evangelion film project on a weekly basis in January, all this before the release of the fourth and last film.
Synopsis of Neon Genesis Evangelion
In the year 2015, the world is on the verge of its destruction. The last hope of humanity lies in the hands of NERV, a special agency under the command of the United Nations, and its Evangelions, giant robots capable of defeating the Angels who announce the ruin of the Earth. Gendou Ikari, head of the organization, is looking for compatible pilots who can synchronize with the Evangelions and bring out their true potential.
Assisting in this defensive effort are talented strategist Misato Katsuragi, head of Tactical Operations, and Ritsuko Akagi, the chief scientist. Face to face with his father for the first time in years, the life of 14-year-old Shinji Ikari has to change irreversibly when he is taken to the NERV facility and discovers his heartbreaking fate: he must become the pilot of Evangelion Unit-01 with the fate of humanity in his hands.
