The
legendary sci-fi series Dirty Pair will celebrate
its 40th anniversary with a commemorative exhibition titled "TV
Anime 'Dirty Pair' 40th Anniversary Exhibition," which will be
held at the Kitasenju Marui event space (7th floor) in Tokyo from October

For this
occasion, a special illustration made by Tsukasa
Dokite, the anime's original character designer, was presented, celebrating
the return of this classic to the public's attention
Legacy
that marked science fiction animation
Based on
the science fiction action novel written by Haruka Takachiho,
the anime Dirty Pair aired on Japanese television
between July and December 1985, with a total of 24 episodes.
Episodes 25 and 26, which were not originally aired, were later released as
part of an OVA.
Following
the series finale, more OVAs, a film, and a new series titled Dirty
Pair FLASH (1994–1996) were produced, which featured revamped
character design by Takahiro Kimura. All these productions were
developed by the renowned Sunrise studio, also known for
adapting another work by the same author, Crusher Joe, between 1983
and 1989.
Exclusive
material and cool collectibles
The
exhibition will include original production materials and
exclusive objects from both Dirty Pair and Dirty Pair
FLASH, such as sketches, planning documents, original designs
and animation cells from the period.
One of the
big draws will be the display of the Seiun Prize certificate, won
for the original novel in 1980, along with the supplementary
prize, which is being shown for the first time.
In
addition, commemorative products of the 40th anniversary will
be on sale during the event. Tickets will be available through ePlus from July
18 at 03:00 (Spanish time).
