The
official website of the revealed
on Tuesday a new trailer for his second film titled Gekijō-ban
Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken: Sōkai no Namida-hen (Arch of Tears
of the Blue Sea). The film will be released on February 27, 2026 (Spanish
time), and will have a completely original story, that is, not based on the
novels or manga.
Holidays
interrupted by a new danger
The plot of
this new installment is set just after the celebration for the founding of the
Tempest Federation. Elmesia, the ruler of the elven nation of Sarion,
invites Rimuru and other senior Tempest commanders for a
relaxing vacation on a resort island. However, the appearance of a mysterious
girl named Yura and a threat looming in the shadows will force
Rimuru to face a new conflict.
The
original cast of the television series will return once again to bring the
characters to life in this new adventure animated by the 8-Bit studio.
A
franchise that does not stop
In addition
to the film, a fourth season of the anime has been confirmed,
thus continuing the successful expansion of the franchise. The third
season premiered in April 2024 and concluded on September 27 with
its 24th episode (the 72nd episode in total). This season it spanned two
consecutive cours.
Crunchyroll streamed the episodes weekly
with English subtitles and dubbing. The production team included Atsushi
Nakayama as director, Toshizo Nemoto as head
writer, Ryōma Ebata in character design, and Hitoshi
Fujima (Elements Garden) in charge of music.

The anime
is based on the light novel series written by Fuse and
illustrated by Mitz Vah, adapted into manga by Taiki
Kawakami. Its first anime adaptation debuted in October 2018.
The second season aired in two parts: the first in January 2021 and
the second in July 2021, complemented by the spin-off The
Slime Diaries in April 2021.
The
franchise has also explored side stories such as the Scarlet Bond film,
released in November 2022, and the three-episode Coleus' Dream special,
released in November 2023.
