Chapter 4: Hand to Hand

The words of a helpless seep into the head of little Falco, who tries very hard to surpass Gabi. On the other hand, Magath and Willy, the current head of the Tybur family, plan stratagems to return to Marley a power as before, to return to the heroism they had with Helos. Formal gatherings and fringe parties, it is the environment where the four Eldian children who fight to inherit the Titans rest. In the distance, two crazy people are talking, one who seemed saner than the other, however he turned out to be the most orate. The most sensible "madman", before the theatrical presentation, drags the sole survivor into his clutches for a declaration of war.

Chapter opinion

We no longer see the past, we observe the present with fear for the uncertain future. The story is taking its pauses, it is making us enter the world of the protagonists who turn out to be antagonists, depending on the point of view. Empathize, take part for them, so that the subsequent confrontation causes division, because who is right? We still do not know what mentality the formerly called "last humans" have, we can suppose it, but we cannot assure it. I already fell in love with Gabi and Falco, and with their two friends, what will happen to me when they face the "heroes"? I do not know. And for that reason the chapter fulfills its objective very well, causing tension and wanting to know what will come. Although there is no action, the tension is maintained.

Willy, the head

We finally met the Tybur family, although knowing them is saying a lot, because more than anything we hang out with Willy, their patriarch. His family is descended from one of the heroes who ended the rule of the Eldians and their demon titans. They were granted the category of Marlyans for this act, being the only family of Eldian origin to have such honor. Inside everything they have remained neutral, until this moment, in which Willy decides to put his hands on it. That is why the subtitle, Willy is the head, not only of his family, but of Marley's destiny, since Magath tells him that he is a commander and because the operation, whatever it may be, belongs to him.

Willy seems to be an interesting character, however he feels that they have cut him short on the chapter, that he said more. We will see how he develops in the plot and learn more about the past of his family, because by having a Titan they can have information about the ancient Eldians.

Contempt

There are two moments in which we witness, again, Marley's contempt for Eldia. This was largely clear last season, but now it is in a more current and postwar context. The first is Reiner's, not taking into account the advice he gave to attack Paradise Island. The chief told him that he should not listen to an Eldian, Reiner shutting up without showing a gesture, perhaps he thought something that did not reach us. And here is something else, it is the self-acceptance of the Eldians to this mistreatment, really feeling inferior and knowing what will bring them despite having more physical power. If even a child you tell him that he is useless, he will accept it and will be useless when he grows up.

This is how they are formed and we can see it with the case of Udo, who panicked when he spilled wine on the dress of a lady from Hiruza. With that fear they live their whole life, with that fear they despise themselves because the context despises them. It is they and their circumstances that made it that way.

The Jeager

We all already know that the "tramp" is Eren. The talk he had with his grandfather was the most interesting of the chapter. The words of former dr. Jeager are prophetic and even apocalyptic words, as if he knows what Eren is up to using Falco. He recommends that you leave the boy alone and leave, otherwise he will regret it. Repent of what? Should we take into account the words of a madman? I would say yes, because in his madness he can have more wisdom than a sane man. Just to give an example: madness was considered an outburst of the gods in ancient Greece.

Repent, the same dr. Jeager has something he regrets and from those memories we know that he is Eren's grandfather. His torments go back to his children, he blames himself for the fortune they both had, which led him to the condition that he has in this chapter. What future consequences will the words of a prayer have?

Home of the Truths

Truth, one of the words that I hate the most because it separates and confronts, because the truth is seen from perspectives. Eldia or Marley, who really has the truth? Each one fights for the truths of him and for the truths of him dies, to believe in something to give meaning to life. There are two truths that come to light: the theater performance made by Willy, what will he say, what will he reveal? Is it really what happened or is it just a performance by the Tybur to control the Eldians? What is pointed out will mark the mentality of certain people, because if you know how to accommodate yourself you can dominate with your truth.

The second revelation is one more independent of perspectives, although Falco did not notice it. Eren introduces himself to Reiner and this second names him, as if he were a ghost whom he did not want to see. When the truth does not suit us, we do not want to believe it, we are shocked and incredulous. Reiner is one more Thomas and Eren is the one who brings the truth to discord.

We'll see what Reiner and Eren will talk about and what will be shown in the play. Those are the two things I am most eager to see.
