Isshuukan Friends manga will have a sequel

In this year's fourth issue of Gangan Joker magazine it was announced that the manga written and illustrated by Matcha Hazuki, Isshuukan Friends (One Week Friends), will have a sequel titled Sono Ato no Isshuukan Friends (One Week Friends Afterwards), which will give start from the next issue of the magazine, on April 22.


Hazuki published the manga in Square Enix's Gangan Joker magazine between January 2012 and January 2015. The publisher compiled the work into a total of seven volumes. The manga inspired a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by Brain's Base Studios, directed by Tarou Iwasaki and scripts written by Shoutarou Suga, released in April 2014. The play also inspired a Japanese live-action film released in February 2014. 2017.


Isshuukan Friends Synopsis


Sixteen-year-old Yuuki Hase finally finds the courage to talk to the girl he likes and ask if they can become friends. The object of his affection is Kaori Fujimiya, a quiet and reserved girl who withdraws from everyone and does not save time in forcefully rejecting him.


Some time later, Yuuki finds her having lunch alone on the terrace, where she usually secludes herself during breaks. Given this, he decides to start meeting there with Kaori every day in the hope of beginning to understand her better. The more time they spend together, the more she begins to open up to him. Or that is what she believed, since at the end of the week, she begins to move away from her again.


It doesn't take long for Yuuki to discover the truth behind it all. As a result of an accident, Kaori loses memories of her at the end of the week from everyone close to her, except for her family. That is, the time for her is restarted every Monday ...
