The anime Let's Go Karaoke! reveals 12 flamboyant members of the yakuza

The anime adaptation of Yama Wayama's popular Let's Go Karaoke! manga has revealed twelve new cast members, all of whom will play quirky yakuza characters. This unusual comedy revolves around a high school student and a member of the Japanese mafia who strike up an unexpected relationship through karaoke.


The new cast members


The actors and their respective characters announced are:


  • Jin Urayama as Boss
  • Yōji Ueda as Alien
  • Hidenobu Kiuchi as Big Brother Yamaha
  • Shigeo Kiyama as Pinky Finger
  • Yukihiro Nozuyama as Punch Perm
  • Rintarō Nishi as Shaved Head
  • Masaaki Yano as Kitty-chan Phobia
  • Ikuji Nose as Anikibun (Leader)
  • Kenichi Mine as Long-Faced
  • Yūma Uchida as Jersey
  • Yūki Ishikari as T-shirt
  • Masuo Amada as Former Cram School Teacher

In addition, the first part of a special video titled "Karaoke Tournament" has been released, starring Shun Horie and Daisuke Ono, who are later joined by Yōji Ueda and Yukihiro Nozuyama.



Premiere date and broadcast details


The series will premiere on July 24 at 10:00 p.m. (UTC+2) through the ABEMA service. Half an hour later, at 10:30 p.m. (UTC+2), it will begin broadcasting on TV Tokyo and other channels such as BS11, Kansai TV, Nagoya TV, HBC Hokkaido Broadcasting and TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting.


For its part, the anime Captivated, by You, also based on a work by Wayama, will premiere on August 21 at the same time and channels, following Let's Go Karaoke!.

Production by an experienced team


The direction of the anime is in the hands of Asami Nakatani (Yohane the Parhelion), with Yukiko Tsukahara as assistant director. The script is written by Yoshimi Narita (Dance Dance Danseur), while Mai Matsuura designs the characters and Takurō Iga (Oshi no Ko) is in charge of the music.
