Fullmetal Alchemist exceeds 80 million copies in circulation worldwide

 Publisher Square Enix reported that the manga written and illustrated by Hiromu Arakawa , Fullmetal Alchemist ( Hagane no Renkinjutsushi ), has surpassed 80 million copies in circulation worldwide. The publisher also inaugurated a waiting room for an upcoming live broadcast that will celebrate the franchise's 20th anniversary, and which will include " important announcements " for the franchise.



On the other hand, Arakawa began the publication of the manga in Square Enix publisher's Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine in July 2001 and ended it in June 2010. The publisher compiled the work in a total of 27 volumes. The manga series is one of the best-selling in all of history, with more than 70 million copies sold around the world. The manga was adapted to anime twice, the first in 2003 titled Fullmetal Alchemist and the second in 2009 and titled Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood .
