The algorithm of the Netflix platform in Japan did its thing when a user shared a screenshot of the search " Gundam (ガ ン ダ ム) ", showing that the platform proposed the animated adaptation of the ecchi manga, Nande Koko ni Sensei, among the results ga !? ( Why the Hell are You Here, Teacher !? ). The data was shared as a funny curiosity, although later other users would share the same search with Netflix presenting other different series among the results.
Soborou began publishing the manga in Kodansha publisher's Weekly Young Magazine in April 2017. The publisher published the tenth compiled volume in May 2020, followed by the eleventh in November 2020 in Japan. Serialization has been suspended indefinitely since August 2020 due to health concerns of the author.
The play inspired a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by Tear Studio , directed by Toshikatsu Tokoro and scripts written by Yuuki Takabayashi , released in April 2019. The uncensored compilation packages would be released later, but it was not a sufficient effort. to save the studio from bankruptcy declared in August 2020.

The series follows the daily life of Satou and her teacher as they continue to find themselves in similar conditions, getting closer and closer with each encounter.
