The idol
franchise Aikatsu! has announced all the details of its
long-awaited return to the big screen with a cinematic event celebrating one of
its most beloved story arcs. Officially titled Aikatsu! Memorial Stage
~Shining Unit Cup~ , this special will compile select episodes from
the third season, along with previously unreleased content that will thrill
both new and existing fans.
A unique
experience on the big screen
This special event will premiere on June 20 in 43 theaters across Japan and will be available for a limited three-week run . The compilation will focus on the Unit Cup arc from the third season, screening episodes 35 through 37 , along with a special selection: episode 39, “Aikatsu Restaurant ,” a chapter within the show's universe where the idols try to rescue a restaurant in distress.
In addition
to the screening of these episodes, attendees will be able to enjoy never-before-seen
behind-the-scenes interviews , where the idol protagonists share their
impressions and memories of the story arc. To commemorate the announcement,
a new promotional image for the event has also been
revealed , further raising expectations among fans of the franchise.
A legacy
that continues to shine
The
Aikatsu! franchise began
in October 2012, with its first anime series airing until March 2016. Since
then, it has spawned multiple installments including Aikatsu Stars!,
Aikatsu Friends!, Aikatsu on Parade!, and Aikatsu Planet! .
The current project, Aikatsu Academy! , launching in July
2024, continues to explore the idols' adventures through virtual content
distributed on YouTube.
With this
event, Aikatsu! reaffirms its position as one of anime's most beloved idol
franchises, paying homage to its history and connecting with new generations of
fans.
