Living
under the same roof with four step-siblings overnight is no easy task, and the
animated adaptation of Uchi no Ototo-domo ga Sumimasen (Please
Excuse My Younger Brothers) has made that quite clear. To keep up the pace
in its two-part consecutive broadcast, the production took advantage of the
special event Aniplex One Focus to release a new promotional trailer and
confirm who will be in charge of the new opening theme song.

The
group Neguse. will be in charge of performing the song
entitled "LOVE & LIKE", a song that will accompany the beginning
of the second block of episodes of this romantic comedy. During the official
broadcast, a special video was presented with comments from the band members
along with a preview of the song, which will take the baton after the work done
by the group DISH// with their song "Aikotoba" in the first section
of the series.
The
animated adaptation, produced by the Lay-duce studio, debuted
on screens last July with a total planning of 24 episodes. The project is
directed by Hitoshi Nanba, scripted supervision by Megumi
Shimizu and character design by Shiori Hiraiwa with Yoko
Fukushima. The main cast includes the performances of Naomi Ozora as
Ito Narita, Toshiki Masuda as the cold but attentive Gen
Narita, plus Taku Yashiro as Raku Narita, Kensho Ono as
Syu Narita, Momoka Terasawa as Rui Narita, Daisuke Ono as
Isao Narita, and Aya Endo as Saho Narita.
About Uchi no Ototo-domo ga Sumimasen
Based on
the original work written and illustrated by Akira Ozaki, the story
began publication in the pages of Shueisha's Bessatsu Margaret magazine
in January 2020, accumulating 15 compilation volumes in the Japanese market and
even inspiring a live-action film by the end of 2024. The plot follows Ito, a
high school student whose routine changes completely when her mother remarries.
Suddenly, the young woman must move to a new home and adapt to living with four
younger half-siblings, including Gen, the older brother of the group who
maintains a distant façade but demonstrates moments of unforeseen kindness that
break the tranquility of the protagonist.
