The fashion
world is usually quite cruel to those who do not fit its molds, but this new
story comes to break all stereotypes. The anime adaptation of the Bless manga
officially presented its first promotional trailer during the Aniplex event,
confirming that the series will hit screens in January 2027 from
the prestigious studio A-1 Pictures.
The ad
served to introduce the couple of protagonists who will give life to this story
about real beauty. Voice actor Tomohiro Ono will play Aia
Udagawa, a young man who seemed destined for modeling since birth, while
actress Chiyuki Miura will voice Jun Sumisaki, a girl who
suffered harassment due to her freckles. Both joined forces in short
promotional videos that show the first nuances of their characters and the
complicity they will develop on screen.
Behind the
scenes, the production has a very talented team within the facilities of A-1
Pictures. The direction of the project falls to Shotaro Kitamura,
who will be assisted by Takayuki Kikuchi. For her part, Fukurou
Kamiza is in charge of writing and supervising the scripts,
while Honoka Yokoyama assumes the character design and
animation direction along with Tetsuya Kawakami and Reina
Iwasaki. The soundtrack will be composed by the renowned musician Ryo
Yoshimata.
Written and
illustrated by Yukino Sonoyama, the original manga began
publication in Kodansha's Shonen Magazine Edge in 2022, later
moving to the pages of Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine. The
story follows Aia and Jun, two young people with opposite realities who decide
to defy the norms of the fashion industry to take control of their own image.
The work directly questions traditional beauty standards and contrasts natural
talent with the value of hard work, already exceeding one million two hundred
and fifty thousand copies in circulation.
