The next
film in the iconic Crayon Shin-chan franchise has just
revealed one of its most striking protagonists: actor Kento Kaku will
lend his voice to the character of Wolf , an Indian
millionaire who sings and dances, in the film titled Eiga Crayon
Shin-chan: Chō Karei! Shakunetsu no Kasukabe Dancers .
The film
will be released in Japanese theaters on August 8th ,
corresponding to 5:00 PM UTC+2 on the same day in Spain . It
will be the thirty-second 2D animated installment in the
series and, for the first time, will be set in India , a
country where the franchise has a large fan base.
A story
full of rhythm, color and humor
Described
as the first "dance entertainment" film in
Shin-chan's history, this installment will take Shinnosuke and
his inseparable group, the Kasukabe Defense Force , on an
adventure full of choreography, music and absurd situations in Indian lands.
The
direction is in charge of Masakazu Hashimoto , who has been in
charge of several films in the saga, including the 30th. The script is written
by Kimiko Ueno , known for her work on previous films such
as Mononoke Ninja Chinpūden and Shinkon Ryokō
Hurricane .
A
franchise that doesn't stop
Last year,
the 31st feature film, Crayon Shin-chan: Ora-tachi no Kyōryū Nikki ,
debuted in Japan on August 9 and quickly shot to #2 at
the box office . During its opening weekend, it sold 365,000
tickets and grossed over 455 million yen (about $3.05
million). By the fourth day, including the Mountain Day holiday
, it had sold over 510,000 tickets and grossed 636
million yen (about $4.32 million).
With this
new installment, everything indicates that Shin-chan will once again win over
audiences with his irreverent humor, now accompanied by choreography and an
explosive international adventure.
