On the official site for the anime adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Shiro , Yama no Susume ( Encouragement of Climb ), a new promotional video was revealed for the new season of the franchise, which will be titled Yama no Susume: Next Summit ( Encouragement of Climb: Next Summit ). The video confirms that the premiere is scheduled for October 4 in Japan and shows a fragment of the opening theme entitled "Omoi Nochi Hare", and performed by Yuka Iguchi and Kana Asumi .
The series is confirmed with a total of twelve episodes, each lasting thirty minutes (including commercials). It should be noted that this marks the first time the series has had full-length episodes, as previous seasons featured episodes that aired in fifteen-minute blocks. Also, the first four episodes of this new anime will be compilations of previous episodes with added scenes. However, the rest of the episodes will be completely new stories.
Shiro began publishing the manga through Earth Star Entertainment 's Comic Earth Star magazine in August 2011, and it is still running. The publisher published the twenty-first compiled volume in September 2021, and will publish the twenty-second on September 12 in Japan.
Synopsis for Yama no Susume
As a child, Aoi Yukimura loved mountains and was passionate about climbing. However, a playground accident left her fearful of heights, turning her towards indoor hobbies. Unfortunately, now a shy freshman in high school, Ella Aoi has become so absorbed in these hobbies that she can barely socialize with others, leaving her with virtually no friends. It is only when she meets the spirited Hinata Kuraue, an old friend of hers from her climbing days, that things begin to change.
Impulsive and lively, Hinata insists that Aoi join her in all sorts of climbing activities. Although reluctant at first, Aoi quickly discovers that her time with Hinata brings back fond childhood memories of her and soon decides to start climbing again. As her return to her past hobby begins to bring her out of her shell, Aoi finds herself gaining close friends, taking on new challenges, and continuing to find her own encouragement to climb .
