During the " ONE PIECE DAY 2023 " event, it was announced that the one-shot written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda , MONSTERS , will have an anime adaptation. The statement also revealed that Sunghoo Park will be directing and supervising the writing and scripts for the production at his new animation studio E&H production , however, no release date has been confirmed. The project will be a single episode with the duration of one for a television series.

Oda first premiered the one-shot in 1994 in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine . He later appeared in the WANTED! , which was published by Shueisha in 1998. The WANTED! It features five different episodes, written and drawn between 1992 and 1996, before Oda's biggest hit, One Piece .

Synopsis of MONSTERS

Ryuuma Shimotsuki, is a samurai who dreams of fighting against the strongest swordsman 'The King'. After wandering, he comes to a town about to die and is saved by a woman named Flare. There, Ryuuma is caught up in a dragon attack.

Ryuuma learns that 1st Swordsman Cyrano and 3rd Swordsman DR have summoned fire-stealing dragons repeatedly in order to destroy the village. Cyrano tries to silence him, but Ryuuma kills him instantly. He then slices the attacking dragon in half with a single blow, kills it, and leaves the city. Although unknown to himself, the Sword God 'The King' was Ryuuma himself, who was given the title “Ryuuma 'The King'”.
