A press release officially announced that Kagiri Araido 's Jiisan Baasan Wakagaeru ( A Story About a Grandpa and Grandma Who Returned Back to Their Youth ) manga will be adapted into an anime, revealing the project's first promotional visual. The statement did not reveal further details of the production, including the animation studio and release date.
Araido began publishing the manga through the X social network (formerly Twitter), and in June 2020 through the Comic Alunna magazine, from the KADOKAWA publishing label . With its seventh compiled volume scheduled to be published on August 16, 2023.

Shouzou and Ine Saitou have been happily married for as long as they can remember. Even in his old age, with wrinkles and cracked limbs, the strength of this love is evident from their precious bond. Jiisan Baasan Wakagaeru follows the young elderly couple in their daily lives, spending time with family and defying the expectations of the younger ones.
