Just yesterday the production of a live-action adaptation,
both in series and film format, for the popular manga “ Oshi no Ko ” was
finally confirmed. Although few details were revealed, we could see the
main cast already in their attire and impersonating the characters ,
but this only made Japanese Internet users feel insecure with the effort the
production is making.
It turns out that fans on social networks are not
entirely satisfied with the selection that was made for the cast of characters ,
especially for issues such as hair colors or their general appearance. For
example, Ai Hoshino, who has purple hair in the manga, has black (or dark
brown) hair in this adaptation. On the other hand, Aqua and Ruby, who
should be blonde, have brown hair.
This, combined with comments that the live-action version of
Aqua doesn't look like a teenager at all, led to the term “パロディAV (Parody AV)” trending on social media . What
does it mean? Well, the term extends to “Parody Adult Video”, and is understood
as pornographic films produced in Japan that make up and dress their girls as
popular anime characters, trying to ride the fame of another franchise to make
sales.
So, fans are comparing the new live-action “Oshi no Ko”
with a porn of this style, referring to the fact that the characterizations are
not convincing. Obviously it still remains to be seen how the
protagonists act (and the fact that the actresses of Ai and Ruby Hoshino are
ex-idols sounds promising), but the reviews have already begun and there are still
months until the premiere:

looking at the top three, I don't expect much about their performances ."

dead, I don't expect much from their acting skills .»
